This Mother’s Day week my 5th-grade daughter, Samantha and I had the great honor to work with Girl Scout troop #24618 on their pursuits of the “Entrepreneur” badge. What a delight to watch my
10-year-old strong girl present to a group of equally strong and creative girls. My daughter thoughtfully prepared an outline, presented with authority, and fielded questions like a champ – when you are a child in an entrepreneur home, you are indeed a part of the business!
As I looked around the room and watched these girls make hand-painted mug & mug cake gifts for their mothers, and create new mug cake recipes for my company (and present them as well!) I was struck at how important the role of Mom was in each of these girl’s lives.
Indeed, it is moms who lead by example, who love with all their heart, who rule with their eye on the prize, and who raise strong daughters and sons. If we are paying attention, every single day our children will remind us of how important our ‘mom job’ is to them!
